Interest in the 2011 MHS Band Reunion · Fri Oct 24, 08:50 AM by Susan Stott

Fellow Dixie Eagles:

We need to hear from you. Our Domain WW.MiltonDixieEagles.Com is expiring.

The costs to maintain the site is a couple hundred dollars per year, which I have been paying. I certainly don’t mind continuing to keep the site and even paying the fee. However, I just need to know if there is still any interest from the Alumni.

You can still go on and blog about anything that you like, see photos from the reunion and “the good ole days” and keep informed on the upcoming 2011 (Remember every five years) reunion. Please reply or go to www.MiltonDixieEagles.com or find me on Face Book.

You can also reach Susan Stott at susanstott@gmail.com, susan@inspiredeventsatl.com or (404)401-2502.

All the Best!

Open Apology · Tue Jul 25, 08:08 PM by Susan Stott

I would like to take a minute to apologize for some of the reunion pictures not uploaded yet. Although a good thing; Reid has been exceptionally busy, and a bad thing, that the “spare time” stuff gets pushed back.

I hope to have all pictures up as soon as possible and also want to thank everyone for making the reunion a sucess.

Also, since we want to continue this every 5 years, would anyone like to volunteer to help and keep this web site alive with new information and continued events?

Please leave a post here or feel free to email the site or me.

Thanks,
Susan Westbrook Stott ‘80

Brannon Roberts · Tue Jul 25, 08:01 PM by Susan Stott

In remembrance of Brannon Roberts.

It was sad news to hear of his passing today, I know we all appreciate Mark’s email and have his family in our prayers and thoughts.

I would like to invite any and all to share any condolences, thoughts or remembrances for Brannon here for us all to look back on.

Thoughtfully,

Hi everyone!

This will be the “post” that will be used to not only find information, but YOU too can add. At the end of each Article/Post are options, is to make a comment. This is where you would simply give it a “Subject” ie. Name and it’s just like an email. It will appear under this “Subject” and you will be able to see how many comments have already been made.

So to start us off I’m going to post the one’s I’ve gotten via email:

WOW! · Sun May 21, 09:27 AM by Susan Stott

Wow is the about the best word I can come up to explain how I felt yesterday. Seeing everyone after so much anticipation was wonderful.

I have to also commend the current Milton Band on what an outstanding and impressive job they did. The legacy goes on….....

I had many request for a place we could all put any personal info up or even just emails so we can stay in touch. I hope to eventually be able to put it all in an organized manner on the website. Using this forum is about the best I can do for now. Here anyone can post a comment at any point.

Please continue to stop and see what’s going on at the site and I hope to be an integral part in continuing the “5 year” plan. Maybe we can get a newsletter going also.

For now if you want to leave any info here just click the “comment” button and post away.

Thanks to Leon for his energy and his unending dedication he has always had. What a wonderful “Mentor” we all had. Also thanks to Mark Broyles – this was his “brain child”, he did an outstanding job.

I hope to see some email addresses and some phone numbers soon.

We also already have some pictures taken yesterday and in my email box. As soon as we can get awake I’ll get Reid to post these for us.

Update: Here’s the photos!

Love to All,
Susan Westbrook

One Week! · Sat May 13, 09:05 AM by Susan Stott

One week to go! It’s finally here. The “coming” list is getting longer each day and everyone is so excited!

I’m still looking for volunteers for not only Friday night set-up at the school but we are still needing help with the sign in tables. I have all available times, from 10:45 on at 30 minute intervals. We need probably 4-6 people on each shift. Some have already volunteered for the 10:45 so all other times are available. We will stop with registration at 12:30 then we can all enjoy the reunion.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone there NEXT Saturday.

Thanks,

Less than a MONTH away! · Mon Apr 24, 08:59 PM by Susan Stott

Have you guy’s seen the missing page lately?? It’s growing. I thought we would have a good turn out but I have to say I’m suprised at all that are going to be there.

This is a “serious” plea please. We need volunteers. We’re going to need a group to set-up and break down. Yall remember the days. Please if you can help and want to get in on some of the “inside” fun, let us know. We are especially going to need “class greeters” help decorating, shopping (come on girl’s we can do this!) etc. Please help if you can.

Can’t wait to see everyone there!!!!!

Old Folks, New Rules · Sat Mar 25, 12:25 PM by Susan Stott

Just because the Reunion will be held at the new High School, we do not need to revert to adolescent behavior.

There have been a handful of us who have enjoyed planning, getting together, reminiscing and laughing. Although we all (yes, all of us) have grown and evolved into adults, hopefully we have learned to get along in a diversified life.

But I have to say that the recent comments I have returned from a funeral to find have frankly sickened me.

People are People and thank God for each us. We have all contributed to each others character — if not we wouldn’t be doing this. I want to meet and enjoy my old friends — all my old friends. Someone I read about said we are all special. You never know who you’re talking to sometimes, it might have been that one chance in a lifetime to do the grandest deed — usually the one that is the hardest — to help another in need. Are you up for the test? Think about that next time you have something derogatory to say.

I apologize because the thread we are talking about (that’s as much as I’m saying) was not deleted before this; I have been out of town at my Father-in-Law’s funeral. In the future I want everyone to use this forum for fun and — yes — a little mayhem, but within the following simple rules:

Comments that are deemed offensive and/or insulting will not be tolerated, and will be deleted. Repeat violators may be banned from commenting.

That’s all. Really nothing more than the same behavior you’d expect from a visitor in your home. And this is our home. I look forward to hearing and sharing old times with everyone.

I love you all,
Susan

Mr. Cole Has Spoken! · Thu Feb 23, 10:22 PM by Susan Stott

It’s a voice I’ve heard in the past but of course my playful side say’s lets lay odds on this one!

Mr. Leon Cole wants to know:

“Alright! Confess! Who put that picture of me with the Mickey Mouse ears cap on the website? I remember when we did the Disney halftime show and I had the band enter the field wearing those Mouse caps. Needless to say, I wasn’t very popular with the band at that time!”

The opening ‘ante” is $10 – Can you guess who sent this picture???
